Daniels named "Local Veterans Employment Representative of the year"
A veterans representative in the Georgia Department of Labor’s Moultrie Career Center, Michelle Daniels, has won top statewide honors for providing outstanding employment-related services to veterans.
ATLANTA, GA --
Daniels, a resident of Colquitt County, was named Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER) of the year for small labor department offices throughout the state by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion. VFW Past State Commander Dean Smith and American Legion Commander Charlie Tucker presented the awards.
The annual award was given recently at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Veterans Conference in Savannah.
Among the services provided by the labor department to veterans are individual case management, vocational guidance, labor market information, job development, and referral to supportive services.
A seven-year veteran of state government, Daniels has served seven years on active duty with the U.S. Army and another six years in the reserves as a human resources specialist. She holds a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Phoenix and an associate of science in computer information systems from Southeast College of Technology. Presently, she is studying for her masters in marriage and family therapy from Northcentral University.
Prior to joining the labor department in 2007, Daniels worked three years with the Georgia Department of Corrections.
