ALBANY, GA (AP) --

Authorities say they believe a rabid fox that infected three people near Darton College last week is now dead.

The Albany Herald reports that no carcass has been found, but health officials say animals with full-blown rabies typically don't live more than a few days.

Carolyn Maschke of the Southwest Georgia Public Health District, said officials believe the rabies exposure was limited to the three people. She said they are now undergoing treatments for rabies.
