ALBANY, GA -- The State Election Advisory Council came to Albany Wednesday to hear the concerns of local voters.
The traveling council is made up of government officials and includes Dougherty County Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard.
They want to give voters a chance to sound off about ways to improve the elections process.
“We felt like as we go through this process we need to make sure that we hear from these citizens about issues that they have and try to address those as we go through the process. I know it's a novel idea, but this is actually government listening to the people instead of us telling them what to do,” said Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp.
Officials say they want more input. Sec. Kemp has set up an Election Advisory Council website, where voters can leave comments.
