Sumter County marijuana bust

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office along with the Department of Natural Resources, Georgia State Patrol, State Probation and Parole, and the National Guard executed a search that turned into a drug bust.

Authorities arrested 65-year-old Thomas Myers Dobson after a helicopter doing surveillance work caught him with approximately 100 marijuana plants at 162 Lane Store Road in Americus.

Dobson was arrested and has been charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
