ALBANY, GA -- Southwest Georgia's jobless rate took a drop during the month of April.
State officials said the rate went down to 9.7 percent from 9.9 percent.
People in Albany don't think that is a big enough jump.
"I really haven't seen where it's went down any," said Amanda Cox, "I know a lot of people still looking for jobs and can't ding jobs."
"I think it's a step in the right direction. I'm Just hoping that it will continue to drop between six and seven percent before the summer is over but that's an unrealistic thought." said Jon Howard.
The unemployment rate for the state of Georgia is recorded at 9.9 percent.
