Zoo asking for Australian names.
ALBANY, GA -- Chehaw Zoo officials are asking the public to come up with the names of their two baby emus.
The Australian long-legs made their debut into the world at Chehaw Wild Animal park in early March. They are now available for visitors to view, but they need a name first.
Chehaw is asking the public to come up with a name that has an Australian flare. The winner of the contest will win a free lunch at the zoo with Kevin Mils, Chehaw Zoo director, and have a chance to meet and pet the baby emus.
To submit a suggestion, send an email to contest@chehaw.org or mail it in to Tonya Hart at 105 Chehaw Park Road, Albany, Georgia, 31707.
The naming contest will be open until June 1, 2011.
