LEESBURG, GA -- Updated Thursday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m.
Early Thursday afternoon, a logging truck overturned in the 300 block of Lumpkin Road East, blocking traffic for nearly three hours.
Lee County Sheriff Reggie Rachals says they believe the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed, but will not know for sure until they finish an investigation.
Rachals says the driver received a minor injury to the left knee, but no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
"The road has got to have some work done to it. We called Dept of public works to look over the road and have that road repaired," says Rachals. He says approximately $20,000 worth of damage was done not including the truck.
Lumpkin Road East reopened at approximately 4:30 Thursday afternoon.
