Police have released the victim's name in Tuesday's fatal car wreck

ALBANY, GA -- Dougherty County Police tells Fox 31 News that the victim in the car accident was Deloris Wynells Berry. They say there was no way to tell how fast Berry was travelling since there were no skid marks found at the scene. Authorities had to move the car away from the scene before they could extract the body in order to cut into the car to get the body out.

Police received the call just before noon Tuesday.

Dougherty County police say a 47-year-old woman lost control of her Ford Focus in the 3600 block of Radium Springs Road and has died at the scene. The name of the victim will not be released until next-of-kin is notified. A motorist traveling behind the Focus says that the woman slumped over the wheel before going off the road and struck an oak tree. More details will be released as the investigation continues.
