ALBANY, GA -- After a driver ran into a utility pole, bringing  down street lights, law enforcement officials blocked off traffic for numerous blocks.

Albany police say Barbra Dudley, 41, drove her 1999 Chevrolet Suburban through the intersection of Clark and Mock Roads into a utility pole around 1:30 p.m. on Monday. The utility pole split in half and some traffic lights came down as a result.

Police say Dudley did receive non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital after being cut from her vehicle with the Jaws of Life.

Police are asking motorists to avoid Clark Avenue at Mock Road and Highway 300 to Turner Field. School Road to Cone Street is currently blocked off along with with the 2000 through 2400 blocks of Clark Avenue. WG&L, Albany police and firefighters are on the scene.
