Senator Johnny Isakson releases a statement about Osama Bin Laden
U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., today made the following statement regarding President Obama’s announcement that Osama bin Laden, mastermind of the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, that killed thousands of Americans, was killed by the United States military on May 1, 2011.
“I’m pleased today to commend our United States military, our special operations forces and our intelligence agencies around the world for the effective delivery of the strike against Osama bin Laden last night in Pakistan which ended in his demise. While this does not bring a close to terrorism it does bring closure to the 9/11 tragedy and justice to Osama bin Laden—but it is a reminder how me must be ever vigilant in the future to make sure that terrorism, wherever it might raise its head, is effectively struck down by the people of the United States of America and by our government. This democracy has survived many attacks in the past and will in the future because we are a great country made of great men and women who are willing to volunteer their time and their service to serve in the military, the intelligence agencies and the security of this country. May God bless the United States of America.”
