Dougherty CASA serves lunch to cops

ALBANY, GA. -- A local children’s organization thanked members of law enforcement for their warm hearts by filling their stomachs with hot food.

Dougherty County Court Appointed Advocates celebrated Law Enforcement Day today by serving lunch to officers of the Albany Police Department.

"They’re saving our lives," said Evelyn Cookley. "We can sleep at night and they’re on the streets. When we call them, they’re there."

Dougherty CASA makes recommendations to judges for the future well-being of children in foster care or similar situations.
