LEE COUNTY, GA -- Friends of the Owens' family helped out with funeral expenses Saturday with a charity car wash.

They were out washing cars at Lee County Auto Saturday afternoon.

Amber Manriquez organized the event.

She says it's just a small gesture to help out a family during a tough struggle.

“And there's five remaining kids and grandkids and a husband so this will really make their life a little easier,” said Manriquez.

The Owens family lost their mother and her son in Americus when a semi crashed into their car, killing the boy instantly.
