ALBANY, GA -- The Citizen's Advisory Committee came to an agreement today about Albany’s feral cat problem.
A proposition was voted on Wednesday to recommend changes be made to the current ordinance.
Changes help outline how animal control is allowed to handle certain situations.
They are requesting that owners get their pet cats injected with a chip to help locate the owner if they are picked up by animal control--especially if animal control has been called on a certain cat in the past.
They recommend the approach of capturing, spay/neutering and releasing instead of capturing and killing.
They will now send the recommendation to the city commission for a vote.
