It has been recommended in the budget that the commission consider a cost of living adjustment for employees

ALBANY, GA -- It looks like cost of living adjustments may be headed back to the city's budget.

City Manager James Taylor gave the city a budget presentation Tuesday.

In it, they are recommending a two percent "COLA"-or cost of living adjustment for employees.

It's been over three years since employees last saw a COLA.

“Living today is just a lot more expensive than it has been in the past, although the economy is flat, so we put it in for the commission to consider. They certainly have an option to remove it, but we think it's worthy of them to consider,” said Taylor.

The city's total budget stands at $108 million.
