Folks learned how to fill in the gaps of their family tree in a special workshop Saturday

ALBANY, GA -- Folks eager to learn about where they come from attended a genealogy workshop Saturday.

At Covenant Presbyterian Church, Addie Denby, the president of the southwest Georgia Genealogy Society was teaching folks the basics to discovering your family tree.

“The most frequent misconception is that people can go in and say ‘I want the book about my family’. But you may be the person who’s going to write that book about your family and so I guess that’s the biggest misconception, people think it’s already done for them,” said Denby.

If you’d like to attend regular meetings, they’re held at the central branch of the Dougherty County Library every first Saturday of the month.
