ALBANY, GA -- More than a dozen representatives from law enforcement and advocacy groups paid tribute to victims of crimes tonight.

“It's soothing for some of the victims and it is a way to let them know the community cares, law enforcement cares, people care,” says Director of Victim Assistance Tonya Hall.

The Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office, the Albany Police Department and Lily Pad were just a few organizations to show up to the candlelight vigil alongside victims and their families.

A poem was even created by Emma Quimbley from the Dougherty County Coroner’s Office for Lt. Cliff Rouse and his family entitled “The Angel of Clifford.” A line from the poem reads, "May the heavens forever allows 'The Angel of Clifford' to sustain you and strengthen you, while showering you with peace."

The candlelight vigil was a part of National Crime Victim’s Rights Week.
