Staff is getting ready for their annual Native American Festival

ALBANY, GA -- The folks over at Chehaw have been working around the clock Thursday. Staff is getting ready for their annual Native American Festival.

It's their third year of the event and they have some big plans for this year.

“Hopefully if they're not careful we're going to teach them a little something, because we have a lot of educators. Diamond Brown, the councilman of the eastern band of Cherokee, will be back again and talking about Cherokee history. We have lots of demonstrators talking about how they used the resources to make a living; chipping the arrowheads, making the bows, the arrows, the pottery,” said Ben Kirkland, Natural Resources Director for the Park.

The show starts Friday and runs through Sunday. Gates open at 9:30 in the morning.
