ALBANY, GA -- A new agreement was signed allowing technical college students to complete the first two years of their four-year engineering degree at technical schools, including Albany Technical College.

Those earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology can now complete the first two years of that degree at any of the 19 state technical colleges that are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

The agreement signed by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) on Monday will allow TCSG students to select a pre-engineering technology associates degree program specializing in electrical engineering technology, industrial engineering technology or mechanical engineering technology. Students can take the associates degree course at an accredited TCSG college and can transfer those credits and complete a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology at SPSU.

Albany Technical College currently offers similar degree program opportunities in the engineering technology field with Electromechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Technology which includes Biomedical and Telecommunications Engineering.
