ALBANY, GA -- Sometimes a coin is worth more than its face value. Dozens of sellers and hundreds of collectors came out to the annual coin show at the Knights of Columbus building this weekend in Albany.

Dealers were selling rare and collectable coins, some were worth thousands of dollars.

“Silver is high right now, a lot of people are turning in your silver coins. Some people are coming in to buy, collect and add to their collection,” said Reynolds Horton, president of the SOWEGA coin club. “Everybody who walks in here today and every dealer in here would probably consider coins to be a significant part of their portfolio.”
