ALBANY, GA -- About 300 runners put foot to pavement in a 5K race Saturday morning. It was Sherwood's first annual legacy run for life.

The race was benefit race to help the Alpha Pregnancy Center.

“The Alpha Center has been in operation for 20 years now and we just moved into a new facility on whispering pines road and have upgraded a lot of our medical and we just wanted to celebrate that with this legacy run. We have this beautiful park that belongs to the community,” said Mike Johnston, who helped coordinate the race.

All of the entry fees for the race went toward the Alpha Center. Sherwood also got some help from some sponsors to underwrite the race.
