ALBANY, GA -- Albany Police and the Gang Unit responded to a stabbing shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday night.

Seventeen year old Roy Jones was walking at the intersection of Gail Avenue and Hoover Street when he was approached by a black male in his mid to late 30’s.  The men got into an argument when the suspect pulled out a knife.  He stabbed Jones multiple times in the shoulder, back, and head.  After Jones collapsed on the ground, the suspect took cash from him and ran away.

Police are still searching for the suspect.  He’s described as a black male with a light complexion in his mid to late 30’s, approximately 5’4 to 5’5 and wearing a black shirt and carried a black bag.

If you have any information you’re asked to call the Albany Police Department at 229-431-2100.
