Lee County authorities arrest a woman for Tuesday’s incident
**UPDATED Thursday March 24, 2011 at 5:30 p.m.**
Mia Register had her first court appearance Thursday March 24, 2011.
The 25-year-old mother of two was crying and apologetic as she stood before Judge James Thurmond.
She was given a $15,000 bond and will have to surrender her license to Lee County Sheriff Reggie Rachals.
Register’s first preliminary court hearing will be on April 19th at 1 p.m.

Lee County authorities have arrested 25-year-old Mia Register for Tuesday’s hit-and-run.
Register is charged with DUI, failure to report an accident with injuries, hit and run with serious injuries, and endangering a child.
Police say Register was driving a car with passengers on board, including her 7-year-old son at the time of the incident. Register hit Jeffrey Haire who was riding a bicycle.
Haire survived and at last check was in good condition at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
