The Multiple Sclerosis Society's annual walk allows the community to unite for a cause
Folks turned out for Walk MS in Albany Saturday
ALBANY, GA -- The Multiple Sclerosis Society hosted its annual MS Walk Saturday morning.
Beth Cuff found out 18 years ago she has Multiple Sclerosis. And while everyday is a struggle for her, the MS walk is a day of comfort. “I get to hear other people’s feelings about stuff that might help me to do something different,” says Cuff.
The walk is meant to raise both funds and awareness for MS but for those suffering from the disease; this is a very special day. “This is like Christmas for people with MS,” says Cuff.
Organizer Jared Miley says this simple day makes a huge difference for those affected by the disease. “ It sounds so simple, but it is life changing; it is life transforming to see all the people rally around this disease that used to be so unheard of,” says Miley.
Miley says research has come a long way over the past few years because of events like this. “Walk MS is all about a community coming together to say we can do something about ms now and that’s what it’s all about,” says Miley.
If you missed the walk, you can still donate to the cause by going to the Walk MS website.
