Lamar Reese School holds Career Day

ALBANY, GA. -- Some local students got a lesson in police work and firefighting today.

Lamar Reese Magnet School welcomed officers and firefighters from several agencies as part of their Career Day presentations.

Retired Atlanta Police Detective William Jackson showed off his badge and holster and encouraged students to learn with an open mind. "Hoping they will listen to the point of being – studying, that they need math and reading and writing to be successful in life and they can be anything they want to be in life," said Jackson.

Jackson served as a bodyguard for four Atlanta mayors and worked as a narcotics and organized crime investigator.
