The Albany Police Department is accepting applications for its Basic Firearms Safety Course

ALBANY, GA -- APD is currently accepting applications for its Basic Firearms Safety Course. The eight hour class teaches basic handgun safety, legal issues and handling skills for self defense.

The class is open to citizens 21 and over, and will be held Saturday, March 19 at the Law Enforcement Center.

Applicants will have to sign a release and authorize APD to conduct a background check to obtain any information relating to a criminal history in order to determine an applicant’s eligibility for the firearms course.
