Americus native Leonard Pope visits Phoebe Sumter Medical Center
AMERICUS, GA. -- Americus native and Kansas City Chiefs player Leonard Pope visited Phoebe Sumter Medical Center today.
Pope, who was born at the hospital when it was called Sumter Regional Hospital, took time to visit parents of a newborn, doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and patients.
Pope says he likes to visit at least once a year to support the hospital.
The football stat will be partnering with Phoebe Sumter for the second year in a row for his annual “Kids Day” to help create awareness of childhood obesity.
