Agents gave tips on how to spot a grow house

ALBANY, GA -- Two undercover drug agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations spoke to Dougherty County Rotarians Tuesday.

They talked about the different kinds of marijuana they come across most often.

Supervisor, Kim Baker says the GBI has seen an increase in those type cases, mostly because neighbors are vigilant in calling into the police when they see signs of a grow house.

“One sign is windows being covered. Windows on a residence that are covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week such as with blankets or aluminum foil, power boxes on the outside of the residence that just don't look common, i.e., wires coming out of them and things of that nature,” Said Baker.

Baker says her agents are seeing more hydroponic grows, which produces marijuana that is worth thousands more than commercial marijuana.
