Leesburg unveiled their new water treatment facility Monday
LEESBURG, GA -- Leesburg unveiled their new water treatment facility Monday.
The $6 million building was funded with help from SPLOST funds.
Officials say population growth in Lee County meant it was time for an upgrade.
“It’s replacing our former pond system. It's a 1.2 million gallon a day plant. It's going to help the city of Leesburg grow in the future,” said Leesburg Mayor Jim Quinn.
With the city's current population the plant is running at 33% of capacity.
