Up to $3,500 worth of jewelry was reported stolen

Jewelry valued just shy of $3,500 was reported stolen in a residential burglary that Cordele police were called to investigate Wednesday.

The victim who lives in the 800 block of 13th St. S. told police a Figaro necklace valued at $300, two 14-karat gold diamond rings worth $1,150, a gold diamond wedding ring valued at $2,000, and a $40 pair of hoop earrings were taken.

Police were given the name of a relative suspected of entering the home through a window in order to gain access to the missing items.
