ALBANY, GA -- Some students at Lee County Primary School played dress up today, acting as famous Americans.

Students learned about famous Americans from the past, present and future at the “I Love America” program. Some of the famous historical characters featured included George Washington, Martin Luther King Jr. and even Oprah.

"(Daniel Boone) was the rippinest, roarinest, fightinest man in the whole frontier," says Jackson Kennedy who dressed up as the frontiersman.

"(Laura Ingalls Wilder) wrote a bunch of books about houses and stuff," says Avery Snedden who portrayed the author.

The program even featured famous Americans from Southwest Georgia including Jimmy Carter, Alice Coachman and Buster Posey.

The U.S. Marine Corps Band played a selection of songs for the school including “Stars and Stripes Forever” and “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” which the students were excited to sing along with.
