Monty Simpson receives life in prison
ALBANY, GA. -- The convicted murderer of an Albany woman was sentenced to life in prison today.
56-year-old Monty Simpson was found guilty in January of felony murder and malice murder in connection to the death of 51-year-old Beverly Williams.
Williams’ body was found at the Dollar Inn on Slappey Boulevard in March of 2010.
She had been beaten and strangled.
Simpson will be eligible for parole after 30 years - he will be 86-years-old.
