ALBANY, GA. -- An Albany Marine accused of murdering his wife over the weekend made his first court appearance today at the Dougherty County Jail.

25-year-old Sergeant James Eppler is charged with the murder of 23-year-old Natalie Eppler.

Albany police say Eppler shot his wife in the head during an argument early Sunday morning at the couple’s home on West Gordon Avenue.

He was denied bond and remains behind bars.
