ALBANY, GA -- The 9th annual Mardi Gras street festival is scheduled to happen in two weeks.
Saturday March 5th you can expect to see vendors selling food and other treats along Broad Street.
There will also be live music, a bike race, and the Snickers marathon.
Coordinator Phil Cannon says this year will be geared toward selling the idea of downtown with downtown manager Aaron Blair.
“We're really hoping to encourage some business opportunities. Mr. Blair has done a wonderful job getting people involved in downtown, opening several new businesses. I know that he has specifically invited several people, several leaders in the financial community to the event just to see what the potential is,” Said Cannon.
The festival always draws a big crowd--this year they hope to have around 60,000 people in town for the event.
