Joel Wernick expects deal done in March

ALBANY,GA. -- Phoebe Putney CEO Joel Wernick says the hospital’s controversial acquisition of Palmyra Medical Center will soon be a done deal.

Wernick took the podium at today’s meeting of the Dougherty County Rotary Club.

He told the group that most of what remains is paperwork.

"We’re kind of chin deep in due diligence, real estate title searches, a lot of different things, a lot of regulatory issues and getting licensures transferred," said Wernick.

Wernick also expects the construction of Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus to be finished by December of this year.
