LEESBURG, GA -- The Monsanto Company planted a giant check in the hands of Lee County Middle School's Future Farmers of America.

The school club was awarded the check by Sandra Watson, a local farmer who won the grant, to distribute to a charity of her choice.

“My children grew up here, they were members of the FFA they were active. I've got three grandchildren that are doing it and I couldn't think of a better place to donate it,” said Watson.

Club supervisors say they money is going to be used to help pay for travel expenses for competitions, and for student awards for an upcoming banquet.
