A local martial arts school donated clothes and served food for those who are in need

ALBANY, GA -- The Aikido Schools of Southwest Georgia collected clothes for the homeless and, on Saturday, gave them out. Home cooked was served as well, and the kids demonstrated their martial arts skills.

The school’s instructor says this day of service is an example of another part of their training: self-improvement.

“G-O-D: That's the inspiration that keeps us going,” says Instructor Aaron Muhammad. “The Aikido Schools of Southwest Georgia is martial arts training that deals with self-improvement and self-development because that's the basis for community development, so we deal with the inner self. We teach children martial arts based off their self.”

The Albany Police DepartmentAmeriCorps and the Girl Scouts also helped collect donations for the school’s cause.
