Southwest Georgia man gets life in prison for child sex crimes

MACON, GA -- A Southwest Georgia man was sentenced to life in prison today for child sex abuse crimes.

37-year-old Dwain D. Williams, a resident of Pelham, was convicted in August by a federal jury in Valdosta of one count of traveling in foreign commerce and engaging in illicit sexual conduct, one count of aggravated sexual abuse and one count of abusive sexual contact of a child less than 12 years of age. 

During the trial, the female victim testified that Williams had repeatedly raped her starting from when she was 9-years old until she was 13, when she lived in Okinawa, Japan. Williams was serving in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Okinawa.

The case was investigated by the FBI and the Office of Special Investigations for Moody Air Force.
