Bishop Eddie Long is accused of sexual misconduct
ATLANTA -- Bishop Eddie Long, a megachurch pastor accused by four young men of sexual misconduct, has given his first television interview since the accusations surfaced but did not address the allegations.
Long appeared at a prayer breakfast on Thursday at a downtown Atlanta hotel and spoke to a WSB-TV reporter after his representatives said he would not answer questions about the legal issues.
Long said the Trumpet Awards prayer breakfast represents what he called a wonderful family reunion.
He said the event celebrates a time when the nation needs hope and when people need to see people who rise up and are doing great things.
All four of the lawsuits against the bishop and his church are still pending.
A judge ordered both sides to agree on a mediator by the end of this month.
