Five-car wreck on Highway 19 between Camilla and Pelham
CAMILLA, GA. -- Georgia State Patrol officers have confirmed 45-year-old David Bell was killed in an early morning crash in Mitchell County Thursday.
GSP was dispatched to the scene around 6:00 a.m. Officers say Bell, of Camilla, was driving a green Pontiac Bonneville northbound on Highway 19 in Mitchell County when he appeared to turn into the median lane to make a u-turn near the Mahaw Lane intersection. In the process, Bell struck a Buick Oldsmobile on the right side, causing it to overturn. The driver of the Oldsmobile, Jimmy Woods, was treated on the scene for minor cuts and bruises. Bell, however, was struck by two other cars and was pronounced dead on the scene. Drivers of those two cars were transported to a nearby facility, treated for minor injuries and released.
No charges were filed in this case.
