Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. give back to the community
ALBANY, GA. -- The Sigma Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated completed one of their signature community service events Saturday morning.
Members of the Tifton chapter donated a new car seat and items for the first baby born in Southwest Georgia this year.
Zyran Christopher Hodge was born January 1, 2011 at 12:53 a.m. weighing in at 6 pounds 6 ounces.
Sorority member Gloria Kendall says it’s their goal to give back to the community and remain supreme in service to all mankind - especially in these hard times. “With the economy being the way it is, this is just one way we can help a new family. By offering them a brand new car seat with all of the safety changes, new regulations, and other baby items we know we’re helping get their new year off to a great start” says Kendall.
Zyran Hodge is the first born child to parents Montrell and Arissa Hodge. The parents say they say are excited to kick off the new year with a new baby.
