ATLANTA (AP) -- Updated - The head of a panel weighing an overhaul of Georgia's tax code said the group will make far-reaching recommendations that will suggest changes to most of types of taxes the state collects.

But A.D. Frazier stopped short on Wednesday of detailing what those recommendations would be.

Frazier said the Special Council for Tax Reform and Fairness for Georgians will deliver a final report to House Speaker David Ralston and Lieutenant Gov. Casey Cagle on Monday, the start of the legislative session.

He said the panel's recommendations would be broader than originally thought and would tackle the personal income tax, the corporate income tax, tax exemptions and the state's tax on cigarettes.

A panel weighing an overhaul of Georgia's tax code is set to hold what's expected to be its final meeting on Wednesday.

The Special Council for Tax Reform and Fairness for Georgians must make its recommendations to the state Legislature by Monday's start of the legislative session.

The panel is weighing whether Georgia should place the sales tax back on groceries, boost the tax on cigarettes or reduce the state's income tax. State lawmakers would have to approve any changes.
