GBI looking for last person of interest in Tifton murder case

GBI agents say they are close to wrapping up the investigation into the murder of 22-year-old Andrew Thomas

TIFTON, GA -- The GBI is looking for one more person of interest in the murder of Tifton man Andrew Thomas, 22, who was shot to death on Dec. 19 at a residence on Gilliard Street.

Police arrested Dominique Nixon, 18, and Jamie Watts, 29, on Dec. 20 in connected with Thomas’ murder. Nixon was charged with murder and armed robbery. Watts was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine and theft by receiving stolen property.

Michael Watts, Jr., 17, was arrested the following day on charges of robbery by sudden snatching and murder.

GBI agents say they recovered money during the arrests that they believe belonged to Thomas.

Agents say they are very close to wrapping up the investigation.
