"Chosen to Conquer" spoke at Tuesday's Dougherty Co. Rotary Club about the importance of boosting the self-esteem of women with diseases
ALBANY, GA -- A group boosting the self-esteem of people with Multiple Sclerosis, Breast Cancer and heart disease was honored at the Dougherty County Rotary Club meeting on Tuesday.
The group received the Albany Chamber of Commerce’s “Non-Profit of the Year” Award last month.
“It means that people can now see the importance of what we do and how women that are living out here suffering from those devastating effects of the diseases called Multiple Sclerosis, heart disease and Breast Cancer can get help,” says Founder Colette Jenkins.
“Chosen to Conquer” goes beyond medical assistance, helping women learn how to take care of their skin and hair. In their “Make Up For Life” program, the group even teaches women with Breast Cancer when and how to get a wig.
