Mission Change hosts their Second Annual Christmas Brunch to put those without families or homes in the holiday spirit
ALBANY, GA -- To make Christmas more comfortable and spirited for the homeless, 200 volunteers spent their Christmas Eve preparing a community breakfast.
Mission Change held their second annual Christmas Eve Brunch this year. Breakfast favorites were cooked by the Corner Café, which the restaurant says is their first time helping the group and a large effort such as the brunch.
Mission Change leaders say they invite their homeless friends, the community and those who have a home but no family to spend Christmas with.
“This is Christmas for me. I’m just excited that we have this many people that are willing to give up their Christmas Eve knowing that it’s crazy out there, that they probably have last minute gifts to go and get, to be with their families but they chose to be here today,” says Ladonna Urick, Executive Director of Mission Change.
Volunteers also prepared gift bags, complete with gloves, hats, toiletries and a variety of snacks.
