ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Area Art Council is featuring a special art exhibit. Selected student artwork from each Dougherty County elementary school is showcased at the Albany Area Art Council.

Students and parents all turned out to check out the masterpieces. Deborah Loehr is with the Art council. She says seeing students react to the exhibit, is the best part. “When they walk into this building and stand next to their artwork, there’s nothing like it. You can see the excitement and pride they have,” says Loehr.

From paintings to sculptures, about 200 students have their artwork on display and now they’re encouraging other students to get involved in the arts as well. If you want to check out the artwork, head over to the art council. The works are on display through early January.
