State Theatre Owner and Managing Partner emerges as most qualified candidate for Albany Civic Center Director
City Manager Al Lott names Lane Rosen as the best qualified candidate for Albany Civic Center Director
ALBANY, GA -- After an eight month search, local businessman Lane Rosen emerges as the best qualified candidate for Albany Civic Center Director.
Currently, Rosen is the owner and managing partner of the State Theatre on Pine Avenue. He’s held this position since January 2004.
Assistant City Manager Wes Smith says it’s this experience that will help Rosen if he becomes the Civic Center Director.
“His experience in the business, albeit a significantly smaller scale, dealing with entertainment and dealing with set up and taking down of events, things of that nature,” says Smith.
Along with the State Theatre, Rosen is in the rental property management business in Albany.
Rosen earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.
As a part of the state’s open records law, the city provided public notice of this decision and now 14 days must pass before final action on the Civic Center Director takes place.
In September, City Manager Al Lott named a final candidate who later withdrew his nomination.
