ALBANY, GA -- Police responded to a homicide Tuesday afternoon, they got the call a little after 3:30.

They arrived at 1425 West Gordon Avenue to find the body of 61-year-old Thelma Carter. Her body was discovered by her husband when he returned home from work. Authorities say Carter died of blunt force trauma to the head. Witnesses told police they had seen the victim's daughter, 40-year-old Janice Ware, leaving the house and walking up the street looking disoriented. Police apprehended Ware, she is now at the Dougherty County jail for further questioning.

Ware has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and domestic violence.
