ALBANY, GA -- A group of Albany elementary students celebrated the gift of giving Monday.

About 20 Live Oak Elementary students stopped by the Faith Community Outreach Center to lend a helping hand to some less fortunate kids. The group brought presents to place under the Christmas tree.

Assistant Principal Demetria Smith says the kids wanted to do something that would help the community. ”We know it’s economically bad right now so we wanted to do something to give, to teach the kids that giving is important,” says Smith.

Each present donated was purchased by one of the Live Oak students.
