Apple gave educators a lesson in how iPads, iPhones and MacBooks can help students in the classroom
DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -- An Apple spokesperson says after the company saw that Dougherty County School's “end-of-course” test scores were low, they decided to offer their services to boost student achievement and grades in the school system.
Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree says he immediately accepted Apple's offer to assist the schools.
From board members to elementary school teachers, educators learned how Apple’s products will help their classrooms. They discovered how to utilize iPhones, iPads and Mac Notebooks among students.
“We’re keeping students interested in terms of what education is all about. How do we take technology and mold the technology into the curriculum? They’ll be able to show us that today. It’s not changing the curriculum, it’s making the curriculum better,” says Dr. Murfree.
He says he believes students will pay better attention in class if the schools use 21st century technology.
