Albany State University's Concert Choral and Chamber Singers spread a little bit of holiday cheer Sunday evening
ALBANY, GA -- Albany State University's Concert Choral and Chamber Singers spread a little bit of holiday cheer Sunday evening.
They performed their annual holiday concert at Saint Teresa’s Catholic Church.
Performers say the concert has become a staple of Albany Christmas celebrations.
“It's a great time to sing especially these Christmas songs and we just like to up lift everybody with music,” said William Glover, who performed in the concert.
The concert has been played at the church every year since 1994. Caroline Hall, where the concert was traditionally held, was so ravaged by floodwaters that the building had to be demolished. Only its chimney remains today.
The congregation of St. Teresa's Catholic Church opened their doors to the choristers following the flood, and the Christmas Concert has been held there ever since on the first Sunday evening in December.
